The Seats feel great...still in Miami

Feb. 5, MIAMI -- Well, as Liz Van Hemmel said, we certainly took advantage of our opportunity to get onto our plane bound for Managua and try out our seats. We sat, squirmed, stretched, slid on and strained on our "spacious" airplane seats for about an hour before we were asked to de-plane.
A problem with a switch that displays navigational information had malfunctioned -- at least that's what I think I made out over the garbled, heavily accented public address announcement.
So, 13 hours after waking to start our journey, we are ...TADAH... still in Florida.
The team is a little cranky and a little sleep deprived. I don't blame them. This also likely changes our plans. Instead of making a 6-hour drive tonight to our final destination, we will likely only go halfway and crash at a small motel for the night.
Stay tuned. Keep the positiive energy and prayers coming. Right now we need them!

  1. Sometimes we dont like answered prayers, right? We all prayed for a safe flight... and now there you are safe on the ground. ;-) The angels are definitely protecting you. You will all be in our thoughts daily until we have you back in Florida again! I am so looking forward to following you in your daily journey. Thank you for allowing us to share in your journey. It takes a lot of courage to do what you are doing. It is so easy to participate in your journey thru a computer screen. It is another thing to leave all your 'To Do's' & families behind and follow that 'nudge' in your heart that ask you to go. Thank you for your commitment to show that we Catholics are devoted children of God. This morning in the Adoration chapel, while we were all praying together, all I could visualize is Jesus smiling down at all of you. Our God is pleased today.
